Dr McCarthy graduated from the University of Tasmania with honours in 2006 and completed her physician training at Barwon Health and her endocrinology training at Western Health, Ballarat Base Hospital, and Barwon Health.

Dr McCarthy consults in all areas of Adult Endocrinology including

• Diabetes Mellitus including insulin pump therapy;
• Thyroid Disease;
• Metabolic Bone Disease
• Osteoporosis
• Pituitary and Adrenal Disease
• Endocrine Disease in pregnancy
• Reproductive Health,
• PCOS and Infertility;
• Endocrine Hypertension;
• Obesity and Peri-bariatric Surgery;
• Endocrine tumours; and
• Hereditary Endocrine Disorders, In patients aged 16 and over.

She also works as a general physician at Ballarat Base Hospital and has admitting rights at St John of God in Ballarat.
